The Metz 44af-4i is version specifically designed to work with advanced nikon line of digital cameras that use i-ttl control, and an improved 40 af-4, retaining double cobra Fresnel pattern for a more even distribution light significantly less redye. Since these are new-old stock, I checked each one on my d3200 and d850 worked perfectly both cameras. It is a great all-purpose medium class flash for advanced amateurs.

These are new in the box flashes. Instruction manual is included. There are some logical changes from its predecessor, including the ability to display working aperture upon LCD screen and an 'extended zoom' mode which keeps flash coverage a bit wider than focal length for better peripheral illumination.
