The Rokinon MD600Z hot shoe flash is a manual flash that is compatible with Minolta, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, Sigma, and Ricoh cameras. Here are some pros and cons that may help you decide if this flash is a good investment for your photography needs:
Pros:1. Versatile Compatibility: The MD600Z flash is compatible with a wide range of camera brands, making it a convenient option for photographers who use multiple systems.
2. Manual Control: This flash allows for full manual control over power output, flash mode, and other settings, giving photographers greater creative freedom.
3. Affordable: The MD600Z is priced lower than many professional-grade flashes, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious photographers.
4. Wireless Triggering: The flash can be used wirelessly to trigger other flashes in a multi-flash setup.
5. Durable Build: The flash has a robust, all-metal construction that is designed to withstand the rigors of regular use.
Cons:1. Limited Features: The MD600Z does not have automatic features such as TTL metering or high-speed sync, which some photographers may find limiting.
2. No Modeling Light: This flash does not have a modeling light, which can be useful for checking composition and focus in low light conditions.
3. No TFT LCD Display: The flash relies on buttons and a small LCD screen for menu navigation and setting adjustments, which some photographers may find less convenient than a larger, more intuitive display.
4. No Built-In Wireless Receiver: The flash does not have a built-in wireless receiver, so photographers will need to purchase additional transmitters or use an external receiver to trigger it wirelessly.
In conclusion, the Rokinon MD600Z hot shoe flash offers great value for photographers who want manual control over their flash settings and are looking for a versatile, affordable option that works with multiple camera systems. However, it may not be the best choice for photographers who require advanced features such as TTL metering or high-speed sync. Ultimately, the decision to buy this flash depends on your specific photography needs and preferences. If you value manual control and versatility, the MD600Z is definitely worth considering. If you require more advanced features, you may want to explore other options.
